Graeme Milicich BDS
Dr Milicich has been associated with the practice since graduating in 1976 and purchasing itin 1979. He is currently involved in research in minimal intervention dentistry and dental lasers, and lectures internationally in thefields of minimal intervention dentistry, restorative dentistry and dental lasers. He is a recipient bof the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry, Fellowship, Diplomate, clinician of the year and research awards. He is also a Fellow and Master of the World Clinical Laser Institute.
Dr Milicich provides dental care that focuses on minimal intervention techniques utilizing the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies available. A comprehensive prevention program is offered where the primary goal is to help patients who have decay problems to manage and treat the bacterial infection (caries) that causes cavities to form. This preventive approach helps prevent cavities, reducing costs and physical damage to teeth.
A diagnostic laser is used to detect early dental damage that cannot be seen visually. These early cavities are treated by gently removing the damaged enamel with a drill-free technique called micro air-abrasion. The goal is to remove as little tooth structure as possible.
A Waterlase MD is the latest in dental laser technology to be incorporated into the practice. This allows for treatment options that are less intrusive when compared to conventional treatment options, making the dental experience more comfortable and less stressful.
Nigel John Gresson
In 1977 I graduated from Otago University Dental School with a BDS. I spent three years in Tauranga before travelling to England. I worked in London in my own business, a family orientated practice, for ten years before returning to New Zealand in 1990. This period allowed me wide ranging experience in all areas of general practice. On my return to New Zealand I chose to become part of Anglesea Dental Clinic because ii wanted to continue working in a family based general practice.
My field includes all aspects of general dentistry. I have been a member of the NZDA since 1977 during which time I held several executive positions including Treasurer and fees and complaints officer. I also undertake professional development on a regular basis and keep to date with current practices.
Family is very important to me. My wife and I have two daughters; one attends Otago University and the other is still at secondary school in Hamilton.
In my spare time I am heavily involved in basketball. My interest has three aspects; I coach the secondary school team in which my daughter plays, I coach at a representative level and I am a referee. I am also a past president of the Waikato Basketball Association. I support the New Zealand Breakers Team and follow the Australian Basketball League. My elder daughter is a rower for the Regional Performance Centre so I also have an interest in her sport. As a family we have travelled throughout the North and South Island to watch her compete.
Dr Jane Fannin
I am a graduate of Otago University gaining a Bachelor of Dental Science there in 1980. My first two years in practice were spent as a Dental House Surgeon at Kew Hospital in Invercargill. While there, I experienced every branch of dentistry, but the bulk of my time was spent in Trama Management and the treatment of medically or surgically compromised patients. I feel lucky to have had this broad and often challenging introduction to my dental career.
Since that time, I have been in general dental practice, the last 21 years in this practice. My practice encompasses all age groups and their requirements, and ncludes a broad spectrum of people. While I enjoy performing most aspects of dentistry, I appreciate the proximity of skilled dental specialists within the complex which allows greater ease of referral and information sharing.
Dentistry is constantly evolving; filling material are very sophisticated and designed to achieve optimal cosmetic result where required. The advent of bleaching has also widened the group for whom comestic improvement is now possible. However, relief of pain, regular examinations and treatment, and provision of comfort are still my most important tasks along with patient education and disease prevention.
My aim is to provide dentistry in a manner that is non-threatening and patient focused, with provision of information to enable informed choice and with minimal discomfort.
